Licences and credits
markerPrints is assembled from open data, open source and freely licensed artwork. Every one of those licences allows what we do with it, including selling the result — and every one of them asks for something in return, usually a credit in a particular place. This page is the record of what is used, under what licence, and where the credit for it appears.
The company details in lib/legal/company.ts have not been filled in. This page is not usable until they are.

Where each credit appears
The three answers in the last column are not interchangeable. A licence asks for the credit in a particular place, and the place depends on what is being borrowed.
- On the image
- On the image — the licensed thing is inside the picture, so the credit has to travel with it. A paid download is drawn with the credit line on it by default; the Export step can turn it off, and if you turn it off, crediting the sources becomes yours to do.
- In the editor
- In the editor — the credit sits beside the live map, which is where the tiles and the search are actually used. Nothing of theirs ends up inside the file.
- On this page
- On this page — the licence asks a redistributor to pass the notice on, not to put it on the artwork. That is what this page and the notices file are for.
Software and typeface notices
The MIT, BSD, ISC and Apache licences of the packages served with this site require their copyright notices to be reproduced, and the Open Font License asks the same of the typefaces we host ourselves. Those notices are published in full, verbatim, in one file. It is generated from the installed packages rather than written by hand, so it cannot drift from what is actually served.
It covers every open source package served to your browser and all ten typefaces, each with its own copyright line and licence text.

Read the full third-party noticesWhat this means if you buy a poster
Nothing on this page limits what you may do with a poster you have paid for. You may print it, hang it, give it away and use it commercially — the terms of sale set that out. The licences here are the reason the credit line is printed on your file by default, and the reason we ask you to leave it there if you publish the image somewhere.
Terms of saleIf something here is wrong
If you hold rights in something used here and the credit is missing, wrong, or in the wrong place, write to [EMAIL CÍM] and we will correct it. If the correction cannot wait, say so — a wrong credit is fixed by editing this page and rebuilding the site, which takes minutes, not a release cycle.
